Application

THERMINOL®* D12 is usable pressureless to 192 °C and with a pressure overlay usable to 230 °C. The steam pressure is approx. 2,3 bar absolute at 230 °C. 
THERMINOL®* D12 is suitable for heating and cooling processes. The product offers an excellent viscosity at low temperatures, which enables good pumpability and good heat transfer property at temperatures down to -85 °C. Compared with the “twin fluid” concept e.g. steam/brine or steam/water glycol the use of THERMINOL®* D12 offers the advantage that corrosion and flush processes can be avoided. 
THERMINOL®* D12 has been classified by the NSF as “HT1”, i.e. it is approved for applications in which unintended contact with food may occasionally arise. THERMINOL®* D12 also fulfils the FDA requirements according to point:
