FRAGOLTHERM® Q-HTF has considerably higher thermal stability in comparison with other mineral-based heat transfer media and therefore has a considerably longer service life – especially at upper temperature limits. FRAGOLTHERM® Q-HTF can also be used in temperature ranges in which aromatic heat transfer fluids are often used and offers the advantage here of being odourless. No toxic products, such as benzene or phenol, arise in the case of thermal decomposition.
The low steam pressure enables virtually pressureless operation in heat transfer systems. Despite the low tendency to oxidation, we recommend using a nitrogen blanket in the expansion tank during use in high temperature ranges in order to prevent premature ageing.
