Pressurised systems

Hydrocarbon or polydimethylsiloxane-based fluids (silicone oil) are used for particularly high temperatures.

There are a large number of products, some of which differ greatly in their thermal and oxidative stability and maximum bulk and film temperature, as well as in their safety and environment-related properties and thermodynamic material data, such as viscosity and boiling point.

“Pressurised” systems must be used if the boiling point of a heat transfer fluid is below the maximum bulk temperature.
